Book 1 ~ Sarah's Key

Sarah's KeySarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sarah's Key is a good read, but a very depressing one. Very well written and easy to follow, however, this book filled with things that you wish you could forget.

25 books in 2011

Well, it's that time of year again. Time to start fresh, make goals for the year ahead, and promise ourselves that this is the year I will finally (instert personal goal that you can't seem to accomplish here). I have high hopes for 2011, along with a very long to-do list. Among the many goals that I have set for this year, I would like to read 25 books...at least!

1. Sarah's Key ***
2. Hunger Games *****
3. Water for Elephants *****
4. Catching Fire *****
5. Mockingjay ****
6. The Ice Queen **
7. Knit Two ***
8. Fallen ***
9. Heart of the Matter ****

The Christmas Box

The Christmas BoxThe Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book had a great message! It brings you back to the true meaning of Christmas...LOVE. In all of our Christmas madness we often forget that Christmas isn't about anything that can be wrapped with a bow. After reading this book, I immediately ran to both of my kids and hugged them tight. It was a short read, but a great one. I highly recommend it.

Letter to my Son

Dear Evan,

It has been my greatest honor to be your Mommy for the past 19 months. I love you to the moon and back again. From the moment you were born, you've had a piece of my heart and soul. Seeing your beautiful and happy little face everyday fills me with too much joy. Your laughter is greater than any gift that you could wrap with your sweet little hands.

With that said...

I found my first gray hair today and there is no doubt in my mind that you put it there. Maybe it started growing the day that you dragged your sister's chair to the counter and tried to reach the coffee pot. It could have been the next day when you learned how to open the fridge and threw a glass bowl full of grapes onto the tile floor. More than likely it was the day that you climbed from a bowl, to a bar stool, and then onto the kitchen island and grabbed a knife. I guess it's also possible that it started growing last night when I was brushing your sweet little hair after bathtime, and you ran off in your nice clean jammies and jumped back in the tub. What I'm trying to say, is that I love you so much that I would like to keep you in one piece. You don't make it so easy...

Every morning I pray that God will help me keep you out of harms way....and everyday I'm reminded that harms way is the only path you are interested in. As your Mommy, I look at you and wish that I could fix any problem that you will ever have, kiss every boo-boo, wipe every tear. I treasure everything about you...all 10 fingers and 10 toes...all 4 limbs...please...PLEASE...be more careful.

~Momma

Wine on Wednesday!

This week for Wine Wednesday, my girlfriends and I got into our pajamas and enjoyed Pancake! It was delicious! I'm not a huge fan of white wine, but this was a good mix. The best part....drinking it in my pj's with some great friends.
