Letter to my Son

Dear Evan,

It has been my greatest honor to be your Mommy for the past 19 months. I love you to the moon and back again. From the moment you were born, you've had a piece of my heart and soul. Seeing your beautiful and happy little face everyday fills me with too much joy. Your laughter is greater than any gift that you could wrap with your sweet little hands.

With that said...

I found my first gray hair today and there is no doubt in my mind that you put it there. Maybe it started growing the day that you dragged your sister's chair to the counter and tried to reach the coffee pot. It could have been the next day when you learned how to open the fridge and threw a glass bowl full of grapes onto the tile floor. More than likely it was the day that you climbed from a bowl, to a bar stool, and then onto the kitchen island and grabbed a knife. I guess it's also possible that it started growing last night when I was brushing your sweet little hair after bathtime, and you ran off in your nice clean jammies and jumped back in the tub. What I'm trying to say, is that I love you so much that I would like to keep you in one piece. You don't make it so easy...

Every morning I pray that God will help me keep you out of harms way....and everyday I'm reminded that harms way is the only path you are interested in. As your Mommy, I look at you and wish that I could fix any problem that you will ever have, kiss every boo-boo, wipe every tear. I treasure everything about you...all 10 fingers and 10 toes...all 4 limbs...please...PLEASE...be more careful.

~Momma

Family Cooking Night

Last month I had this fun idea that once a week my family would cook dinner together. In this fast paced world that we live in, I want my children to know that there will always be a time to slow down and enjoy being together. It's important to me that they understand the importance of family. Sunday night was our first official family cooking night and we decided to make spaghetti and salad. My little sous-chef was amazing, dinner was fantastic, and we had FUN!

Voila!
P.S. This is not our actual dinner...I forgot to take a picture. It looked similar ;)

Kaylee Renee

Kaylee Renee Webster was born on May 16, 2006 at 5:28pm. She was 8lbs 7oz of perfection.

It's a warm night in September and I have this overwhelming urge for a popsicle. David is in the living room watching Monday Night Football and I haven't even started on dinner, but I grab my keys and I'm off to the store. It's there, in the frozen dessert isle at the supermarket that I realize...I'm 2 weeks late. I pay for my box of popsicle's and a pregnancy test and I rush home. When I walk through the door I kiss my husband, grab a lime popsicle, and take the pregnancy test. POSITIVE. In less than a minute, the course of my life has changed.

12 weeks later...

I'm sitting in the ultrasound room waiting for someone to come in and tell me that I'm having a girl...they don't know yet, but I do. David is eagerly waiting with a grin from ear to ear when the nurse walks in. As she puts the cold goop on my belly David and I exchange a glance of excitement. Twenty five minutes later we're waiting for this active little bean to stop moving and uncross her legs. The nurse tells us we may not find out today, to which I respond "that's okay, I know it's a girl." Five minutes later she smiles and says "It's a girl."

May 16, 2006

10:00am
I've been in labor for 8 long hours and I'm tired. Robby(my nurse) tells me I'm 5 centimeters dilated and they want to break my water. Yes please! Ten minutes later I'm thinking, who knew a person could hold that much water! I feel a contraction coming on and I think I might die. How much longer can I do this?

11:45am
I'm having the worst contraction yet and I'm thinking about the ocean...so calm, so peaceful. My mom is rubbing my neck and David is talking about our honeymoon in a very soothing tone. The nurse comes in and asks me if I want an epidural. YES PLEASE!!!

12:30pm
I'm laughing and enjoying the company. My family has been driving all night and now they are here. My cousins are telling me jokes and my Aunt Stephanie is showing my Uncle Kevin how to read the contraction monitor. I feel loved :)

4:00pm
Time to push.

5:28pm
Kaylee is here. She is laying on my chest looking up at me and all I can think about is how much I love her. The past 14 hours fade away and I just feel happiness. God has given me this beautiful gift to love forever.

Today

Kaylee and I are shopping. We're headed to the dressing room(in Kaylee's words) "to dress up." Kaylee sees something else, I say, "okay let's go get it," she walks over to a rack of teeny tiny bra's. WHAT?!? Then she says, "I can be just like you." That's when it hits me, someday my beautiful gift from God will wear a bra.

Life happens way too fast.

Picture Perfect

This week my little girl will be 4 years old....it's hard to believe. I never knew that you could love someone this much, and then I met Kaylee.

This was taken seconds after she was born. The doctor put her in my arms and she looked right into my eyes...it was breathtaking.

Picture Perfect Wednesday

This will be a regular on my blog. I'll start this off with 3 pictures that mean so much to me. As a mother, nothing is more special than the love your children share. To introduce Kaylee to her new baby brother and watch her embrace him with so much love was the most amazing feeling, it was Picture Perfect!

Meet my family

David works as a 3D Animator/Designer and he loves it. He is the most amazing person I've ever met. On our first date he told me to dress warm and he'd pick me up at 10am. He drove me to San Francisco, my favorite place, we spent the whole day laughing and enjoying the best places in the city...it was amazing. I fell in love with him that day and I fall a little more everyday. He's charismatic, witty, funny, smart, handsome, so sexy, an incredible father, an amazing husband, he loves us more than anything and he shows us everyday.

Kaylee is my little princess. She'll be 4 years old on May 16th and she's counting down the days. Her favorite activities are baking, ballet, tea parties, swimming, coloring, dancing, shopping, and playing with her friends. Kaylee loves being a big sister and mommy's little helper. She goes to preschool 3 days a week and according to her teacher, she's an excellent student. We think she's amazing!

Evan is my baby. He is a beautiful baby boy with the biggest brown eyes and fuzzy little hair. My sweet cuddle bug follows me everywhere. He loves music, dancing, and laughing. In his first year he has taught me that little boys really are a challenge, even the mellow ones, but at the end of the day he melts my heart like no other. Evan is a little daredevil, a flirt, and a little angel all in one. I love my little boy!
